True moment

Hi dear sisters ..... sometimes a picture is most beautiful when it reveals a person's spirit, most powerful when it tells a story; I feel this set of pictures have done just that. No makeup, no fancy clothing, no calculated pose; just someone who has a genuine desire to learn and a pure spirit to create ........

to diligently attain the technical skills,

to ensure perfection every step along the way.

He would practise to the wee hours in the morning or until his creative juice all dried up,

then he'd start all over again the next day. But to him, this was the truest moment; a moment for him to express his deepest emotions about life, about love through an art medium of his choice. This may very well be his truest work, because it will not be judged by film critics, box office, ratings and fans' reactions. This is just between him, Bae Yong Joon, and his art.

and i love how he'd supposedly told master jun that now that he's learnt two of the lacquer techniques/methods, he'd be back to learn the remaining 298 :p

p.s. i can't wait to see his works in the flesh, so to speak.

and oh, he even made me wanna learn lacquer painting. i'd tried to ask around and also googled, but it seems like there're no such classes in singapore! vietnam keeps popping up in my searches :p

helloo ms. jaime...
these pictures gives a smile on my face...i feel warm and happy. This is as "normal" as he can get, that he could just be by himself...doing his own thing...concentrating on his lacquer paintings/lessons, while, we, research on his whereabouts...it's been tough on both sides..eh?

MWAHHH!!!

Ha ha, I came here after leaving a long comment on bb's blog expressing similar ideas. Won't repeat the here except I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who likes these photos.

Dear Jaime,
It's nice to see this pictures here. I feel so bad because I felt I had let him down in a way.. I still have faith in him and to be honest these pictures are just beautiful but sad.

As you said, it's so true that this is his genuine self expression.I'm glad that our HRH can express his ideas and emotions which goes beyond the use of words through his lacquer art.

Thank you for posting this. Take care.

Hi Jaime

Thanks for the photos. I really love his facial expression that very clearly shown that he is very in-depth in his mind and putting his full effort in doing things. Is give us impression that in whatever we do we should put our all efforts into the things that we need to do.

Is really touched my heart and love this man more. By the way how are you? Hope you were in the best of health.

Take care and cheers

Hi Jaime

These pix have surfaced in anywhere BYJ but I really like what you wrote here. These pix appeal to me soooo much cos it is wuri Yong Joon in his true natural beauty - a complete picture of self in deep concentration and perseverance doing something that reflects who he actually is and how he really feels. I feel this is one of the closest moments we can get to the person of Bae Yong Joon.

Dear Jaime,
All have been said, and I agree...
Yong Joon ssi is so intense when he is concentrating on something, whether Acting or Body Building or Lacquer. Now, lots of ladies including me...are looking up Lacquer art classes :)

I still wish he won't forget acting though.

Tried commenting on your last post but failed cos of bad connection, hope this gets through.

Wishing you are much better now.
Love, myoce

hahaha princess,

me too! 2 techniques checked off, 298 more to go! This one is way too funny to pass up. I thought he's got to be joking, but then this guy is way too serious to joke about this.

So, you are interested in the 300 methods to the way of lacquer art? maybe you like to take a side trip to Iwate Museum when you come over? You might get a better sense of what is involved? Take care, eh :)

Hi dear chakachan,

You are right, it was tough for us to be wondering. It seems this set of pictures is saying to us, "give me time, I am working hard on what I believe in." It gives me strength to keep waiting, what about you? Thanks for leaving me a comment.

Dear Hyds,

Please do not feel you let him down, maybe sometimes he also feels this way too especially he's such a perfectionist. I think as beautiful as love is, it carries both joy as well as burden. Hard as it may be, I am learning to ease off my feelings for him. I think he will appreciate the breathing space he gets from his family. Please take care!

Hi Jelen,

Thanks for coming by. Yes, We did not see a super gorgeous prince in these shots, what we are looking at is an ordinary man at work. But to us, these are the most precious. Like you said, how can we not love him?! Please take care!

Hi alcy,

I hope Yong Joon will be comforted knowing his family all appreciate his dedication. When he captures this experience into writing, then his Beauty of Korea book will also be another masterpiece :) Thanks for leaving me a comment.

Dear Jaime and Bae sisters:
Bae Yong Joon is top celebrity actor in Korea and even in Asia. Yet instead of remaining up there in the clouds, he has humbly come down to ground level and started from zero -- studying lacquer art. He bows to his master/teacher and offers to cut his hair and make it into a brush. This really speaks of his greatness as a human being.

Dear Jaime,

I really like what you have written here. Your ideas and words always brought my BYJ journey into depths. By looking at these pictures, I really feel our fans may not even need to worry about if he will have a normal family life or not, he is the one knows what he really wants, and if he does want, he will get it sooner or later. Thanks Jaime.

Thank you for your positive psychology. Sara is fine, she is into physical rehabilitation and occupational therapy. Who knows, she may also take up lacquer painting! Cheered by family, friends, and faculty from her university, she is progressing well into walking and dancing with the stars.

Hello Jaimez,,,
I visited BB blog and read something about BYJ and Phillip. I know in my heart that whatever he wants if his going to be happy that's fine but still my heart feels the pinch....

I cannot still swallow the fact that maybe their sharing clothes now......

My heart is sinking right now...
Maybe if I see Byj with a woman I would jump for joy but phillip again...y?

When you see these dude face his really handsome and looks like a real man.....I don't know I just wanted to release these feelings.............

Dear Jaime, Newbie and Bae sisters:
Please be assured that both Bae Yong Joon and Philip are both heterosexuals. I do not think they are sharing the same clothes, they can afford to buy their own even if they are of the same brand. Although I have nothing against homosexuals, lest we be accused of homophobia and discrimination, practising homosexuals can be seen in the eyes. And it is nowhere in Bae's or Philip's eyes.

Dear newbie,

Sorry for my late reply. First, thank you for sharing your feelings with us. I understand where you are coming from. As a fellow fan, I can relate to what you are thinking and I must confess that every possible thoughts have crossed my mind before. While we only see the 'superstar' aspect of him, we really do not know much of his private and family life.

I feel the very gentle and feminine image we see of Yong Joon is a 'metrosexual image' presented to appeal to female fans. If you watch his older dramas and some behind-the-scenes footage, Yong Joon is a very masculine and tough man. The way he talked, laughed, sat, moved was very manly, a typical guy's guy. While it may not be his real personality to be picking flower petals and smiles in a rose garden, he has to nevertheless present a marketable image - which in this current wave happens to be the 'flower beauty man' image.

With regards to him and Philip spotting the same clothes, hehe I simply guess that : Philip is a pretty young and hip guy and Yong Joon honestly is never much of a fashion leader (he always has a stylist since way back). So it's not unusual that Yong Joon liked what Philip wore and he just bought the same thing :) Hehe, I don't think they have to share the same piece of clothing.

Besides, I notice that friendships are quite different for young people of the same gender in Asia than in North America. For example, it's quite common for young female friends to hold hands and walk on the streets, and for young male friends to put their arms over each other's shoulders. Hehe, maybe even more so in Korea since they addressed each other as onni, tongsang, hyeong, luna, obba, all in one big happy family!

Honestly newbie, I think everyone (fans or non-fans) will have their own interpretations, but I agree with Josephine. I feel Yong Joon will get married and have a wonderful family someday. His burden comes more from his fame and responsibilties to his fans than anything else. Hope you enjoy your Bae journey so far, eventhough there is not much happening right now :)

Again, thank you for sharing your concerns, it was wonderful to read your heartfelt comment. Sorry that I can't offer an intelligent answer. Please take care!

Hi Jaime

Just wanna let Newbie know that the same thoughts have crossed my mind and also bothered me and I would think quite a few others as well. So, Newbie, you're not crazy at all. YJ's long hair didn't help the situation.

But as Jaime says, YJ's probably OK.

Dearest Jaime,I am reading all your posts, so commenting on old ones I love. And you are so right in your response to Newbie previously - every word of it. I find that they are selling an image of him in the ads and commercials, and even on stage meeting fans... he has to present what the world wishes him to be. I love the real him that I get to see when he's off set, or is not in front of an audience or being interviewed - that's the real man - and he's every bit of it.

I've only been on the BYJ journey for a few weeks, but it did not take me long to see and understand the difference.

A part of my heart is sad - sad because most often, talents like him secretly battles very tough journeys - we see if often in the States with Mega stars...prayers it will never be the case for BYJ - he'll live long and healthy, and have a beautiful private life.

luv,
dp
