This collection of music is actually classical pieces that BYJ loves selected from movies and dramas. The collection is divided into 4 themes (provided by dear cloudnine) :
'Love Story' contains 6 pieces including Dvorak's 'New world', Puccini's 'Turandot, Nessun Dorma',and Beethoven's 'Piano concerto No.5, Emperor'.
'Dramatic' contains another 6 pieces including Mozart's 'Symphony No. 25, first movement', Mascagni's 'Cavalleria Rusticana', and Tchaikovsky's 'Overture 1812'.
'Art' contains 6 pieces including Mahler's 'Symphony No.5', Bach's 'Air on G string',andBeethoven's 'Symphony No.9'.
'Spectacle' has 7 pieces including Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries', J. Straus's 'The Blue Danube', andHolst's 'Jupiter from the Planets'.
Like the last BYJ Classics/Hero CD set, our Yong Joon's original essays about his thoughts on the music will be included. There will also be 'never released' pictures of him by the talented Leslie Kee. Just to show you a few to wet your appetite .....
The CD collection will be available for ordering on the Brokore site starting March 31. If you want to fully immersed in his music and mood, there will also be 4 individual concerts held based on each theme. 'Love Story' and 'Dramatic' on April 3, 'Art' and 'Spectacle' on April 8. The concerts are held by the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by the renowned conductor Maestro Kim Seikyo and MC by Ms Kim Tei. I tell you, with the rate these products are rolling out, I think I have to seriously consider robbing a bank :) Sorry, BAD idea! I'll be more realistic, I'll work 3 jobs, ok?

Hi Hi Jaime,
I think we had a misunderstanding about BYJ Classics part 2. I re-read this notice and found out that
these 4 CDs contain 'Classical music' unsed in the movies, not theme from movies. Jaime, you were wondering why the word 'classic' was used for the compilation album of cinema music and I was a bit absent-minded at that time (as usual!) and misled you.
"Love Story" contains 6 pieces including Dvorak's 'New world', Puccini's 'Turandot, Nessun Dorma',
and Beethoven's 'Piano concerto No.5, Emperor'.
"Dramatic" contains another 6 pieces including Mozart's 'Symphony No. 25, first movement', Mascagni's 'Cavalleria Rusticana', and Tchaikovsky's 'Overture 1812'.
"Art" also contains 6 pieces including Mahler's 'Symphony No.5', Bach's 'Air on G string',and
Beethoven's 'Symphony No.9'.
"Spectacle" has 7 pieces including Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries', J. Straus's 'The Blue Danube', and
Holst's 'Jupiter from the Planets.'
Of course HRH's original essays about the music are included. I googled in which movie above music was used and found oh so many!
As for 'Nobody shall sleep' from Turandot, it is unsed in 30 movies including; The Sea Inside, The Killing Fields, The Island, Mostly Martha, and 'The Eraser In My Head'
Now I'm curious to know which movie he has chosen.
Sorry for the long writing.

Hi Jaime and cloud nine,
Thanks for the additional info on the upcoming CDs!
Me too, I'm curious to see which movie/movies he'll choose for each.
I remember reading something very interesting about 'Ride of the Valkyries' as used for the iconic helicopter scene in Apocalypse Now. When the time came to obtain permission to use the version that had been used all along by the film's editor, there was some worry that they wouldn't get it or wouldn't get it on time.
They considered several alternative versions but some of them simply did not work well with the scene. They finally found one that was promising and got permission. However, when they looked at the final product, for reasons they could never explain, it made the water appear green! In the end, they managed to get permission for the version they had wanted all along. (I hope I am remembering this anecdote correctly!)
Ah, the magic of music... Speaking of which, nice music playing here, dear Jaime!
hi jaime onni! passing by :)

Hi Jaime and all those interested,
I have updated my blog with the movies which were chosen for the compilation of the CDs.
Two were Japanese, and I have not seen either. I would guess that it reflects his admiration towards actor Ken Takakura and director Kurosawa.
