Cold winter, warm reads

Dear sisters ...... Our sister Josephine's academic paper based on her study of Yong Joon is out this month, congratulations! It is published in Karunungan - a journal of philosophy. I still remember Josephine when she first entered her comments here during the airing of TWSSG. She drew many comparisons of Damdeok and Yong Joon, and she always provides us of her philosophical knowledge and thoughts. I knew about her study and writing of an academic paper on Yong Joon but am so grateful that she is sharing it with us, thanks Josephine!

Her paper is entitled :

"Junzi by Confucius and the Archetypes of Carl Jung in Bae Yong Joon and the Winter Sonata" Yes yes, I am pulling out my dictionary at this moment as I am reading the title. A quick glance at the content of the paper indicates that I will be needing it and probably an encyclopedia too. Sigh, I am not a scholar like Josephine and my tiny brain can only hold so much of our handsome prince :( But I am very eager to read about her study on Yong Joon. It will be a very interesting read for me when I am sitting on the plane to Taipei this Christmas :)

For you avid readers, Josephine has also written another knol about self management, change management and leadership based on the drama 'Lovers in Paris'. The knol is titled :
"Lovers in Paris, a critique" Hehe, together with Yong Joon's 'Beauty of Korea' book, I think this Christmas Holidays will be filled with the warm thoughts of our handsome prince :)

*Note : According to US copyright laws, the academic papers are owned by Josephine, the journal, the academy and the university, it cannot be posted elsewhere nor translated into other languages without their written permission. Thanks for understanding that I only provide the links. Please feel free to write your comments to Josephine here. Happy reading!

Dear Jaime and Bae sisters:

Greetings on a cold but beautiful day, full of miracle after miracle.
Thank you for your kindest comments, and for providing the links to my academic papers to share with the Family. I have learned a lot from our Bae sisters in the process of researching and writings on Bae Yong Joon, and your blogs are acknowledged in the footnotes. Henceforth, those blogs are already part of history and documentation.
I hope that these papers will help us all in self development and transformation of the society.
Long live the King!

Dear Josephine,

Thank you very much for sharing with us your indepth study on BYJ. Although by glancing your paper, I know it will take time for me, and only with the help of dictionary and as Jaime said, the encyclopedia to finish it, the three sub-problems listed in the Introduction section which you would solve in this paper already grab my eyeballs, it will be a interesting and warm reading.

Although it looks like a sophisticated project, I'm sure you have had a lot of fun and enjoy it very much with wuri Yong Joon centered in this study. Thanks again and have a very merry Christmas.

Dear Jaime and Bae sisters:
Greetings on a very cold day with a severe weather alert that presages snow on Christmas day! I am already in six layers of clothing!
You are very humble. Of course, you and all the Bae sisters helped me in the research and writing of my academic paper on Bae Yong Joon. If you revisit the blogs, I have explored ideas of Junzi of Confucius and the archetypes of Carl Jung, lover, warrior, king and magician for the first time in the blogs. I was waiting for responses and reactions as a feedback loop, and you kindly responded.
Thank you for journeying with me through the beauty of Bae Yong Joon, his life and art. I am grateful and will never forget it.

Dear Jaime and Bae sisters:
Greetings on a very cold saturday morning with a severe winter storm projected for about two days. White all over the rooftops and garden. I can only watch the snow fall from the window. It must be terrible to walk and/or travel outside. I remember that Baeyongjoon used to catch cold while shooting during winter. But when Choi Ji Woo was asked how she kept herself healthy and never caught colds or cough, she said that she drank ginseng everyday.
I do not have any Blog, Jenny, but I Knol. My two academic papers can already be google searched, thanks to all your clicks, Bae sisters. Please make your comments when you have time.
Keep warm, healthy and safe, specially those travelling for the Christmas holidays.
Happy and Merry.
Sarang Hamnida,
josephine

Hi Josephine,

Sorry to hear about the snow storm. Weather is pretty bad now in Europe and America. Ginseng is very good for the body but it's an acquired taste. I try to drink some ginseng everyday but I rather have coffee :)

Please take care!

Hi, Jaime.
Thank you for posting the link to Josephine's treatise. I was most impressed by her use of Bae Yong joon and "Winter Sonata" to exemplify the stages of both Confuscian philosophy, and Jungian psychology. Quite an interesting read, I must say. But, then, what else would one expect from a ph.D.? Happy New Year, dear. Love, Anna

Dear Bae sisters...

Thanks to Josephine for the quite impressive and insightful academic paper about our prince... My neurons got a jolt, but my what a jolt!
I am taking my MA in Language Education... I'm now thinking if I could possibly do a thesis about him too... although, how could I --- relate it to Language, that is... well sisters, especially Josephine --- can someone help me out?

Thanks so much BYJ Family...

Dear Anonymous and Jaime and all Bae sisters:

Greetings on a beautiful although Bae quiet day.
Of course, you can write an MA thesis on Bae Yong Joon and Language, so long your adviser and school permit such innovative approaches. Some universities might consider the topic non-academic or not scholarly.
There are many possible academic areas to cover -- philosophy of language, cultural studies, critical studies, narrativity -- which is tha latest trend.
I will be glad to help, just as our Bae sisters helped me in my paper by being my sounding board.

Sarang Hamnida,
josephine
