Musically inclined

Hi hi sisters ...... time flies eh? It's already a month into 2010! Everything seems to be spinning on a fast wheel in Tokyo. Sometimes I feel like a small speck of dust being drawn into this powerful force and am so lost. I think at times like this; soft music, complemented with the warm smile of Yong Joon are best remedies for soothing tension :)

Yong Joon said before that he can't sing or dance, but it doesn't mean that he has no aptitude for music. From the classical collection that he chose and the instruments he played, he certainly looks musically-inclined to me! You think so too?

Remember he was so shy after playing just a few notes of Winter Sonata
Relaxing in the hotel room during his Beijing April Snow tour
Recognize this one, he's so lonely in Barefooted Youth
Hehe, Megane Ichiba - all in one price!

Need I introduce more, he even sang too - "natural story, the Face Shop!"
Oh, the very homey and heartwarming Lotte chocolate CF.
Ok ok, let's not push it. He is just pretending here, right?
Hehe, does this one even count that he is musical? At least all the women in that scene thought so, except Sujini :)
Hope you enjoy, have a good weekend!

Hi Jaime,

I was so glad to find two posts since my last visit!! I can well imagine how particularly quickly time is flying for you in Tokyo.

You mention our dear YJ saying he can't sing and so far, I tend to agree. However, not all "songs" are necessarily sung. And even before Rap there have been a few examples of "spoken songs" that drew considerable attention and airplay. Remember the Sunscreen Song a decade ago? Of course, I'm not suggesting wuri YJ should record something in the same advice-y vein but I wonder if there would be interest in hearing his mellifluous voice read (perform) a poem or something like that.

All those in the family who are trying to learn Korean would certainly love to have a translation of what he says and try to follow as we hear him say it.

But then again, maybe it's just me fan-tasizing as usual, sigh!

Hi gosijo and Jaime,

Remember he sang in the movie 'April Snow'. Insoo sang out in his car. Some say it was not a real singing, but for me it was! I like it very much.

BTW bofi just announced that the very special dvd of WLS making would be out in April, which is named 'Winter Sonata: final chapter
the record of 100 days miracles were born.' This will include never-before-seen films and one of them is the " PIANO SCENE" by BYJ himself. I'm so tempted to buy it...

Dear Jaime and Bae sisters:
Greetings on a windy minus eight degrees centigrade day. It is going to snow again.
Indeed, Bae Yong Joon is an artist in all categories -- visual, auditory and performing arts. He wanted to be an architect, remember, so he could draw and draft. He paints in lacquer now. He has done ceramics. He plays the piano, not as well as his sister who has a degree in music and plays the piano professionally. But Bae can play the piano and the guitar for his own self-expression. He also writes, and it seems to me that even his prose can be poetic. He is a "method actor", interiorizing and becoming his character. When you go through his performances on television drama and movies, you notice that every role is different and individual. That is why it takes him a year to cast out a role and take in another personae.
I hope you will watch "History of Bae Yong Joon" end of January 2010 and tell us all about it.
Sarang Hamnida,
josephine

hi jaime, how these ?...,
how do you go with your drawing classes?, I had the opportunity to see your first strokes, but surely you'll do very well, you know? I'm not very good for drawing,
but I have also made the attempt and for perhaps one day, (which I see far away) I will draw our prince so well as do our bae sisters.
Well start the month of love and friendship and this makes it very romantic, perhaps cerenatas and beautiful flowers, very appropriate for Commencing seeing these beautiful pictures of byj. playing beautiful melodies on piano or guitar and singing, all looks beautiful.
thanks and for you too a good weekend.
Mexico cecy fondly.

Hi dear gosijo,

I think the Winter Sonata Anime is an answer to his fans' love for his voice. I am still not convinced though that someone with a magnetized voice like this can't sing well. Maybe a good voice couch will make the difference in this case? Please take care!

Hi Jaime

Love all these pix, cos they have our King playing musical instruments. He certainly has an aptitude for music but I guess he's too shy to pursue it further (and with time constraints too). My daughter's voice instructor once told me everyone can be taught to sing well, it's a matter of how much effort that need to be put in. I'm certain if wuri Yong Joon really chose to sing, he would do very well. He's so artistically inclined in so many disciplines but just lack the time to pursue them in real depth.

thanks again for the wonderful pix

Hi Alcy,

Oh, your daughter is learning how to sing? How neat! I believe you, I also think anyone can sing with proper use of their voice, lung and breathing. hehe especially if they are just singing for fun, not professionally)
