I still don’t understand how Damdeok was born? There was a pregnant woman stumbling into a hut, then a twirling column of white light brightened up the dark sky. His next appearance was Damdeok’s aboji stuck a glowing stone thingy into his chest in front of his assassins, right? What happened after? Did he get separated from his aboji? So he’s not raised in the palace, he was a horse stable boy? I am confused about his background, but there seems to be such clear introduction on Kiha and Sujini.
I know I know, TWSSG is a serious epic drama with historical significance. But, but I really am not much into how the world begins or which tribe has conquered what land, nor do I worry about how many green dragons, white tigers and red birds flying all over the sky. To me, the most critical story in this drama is how does HRH’s love life (or lives) develop? So miah-nae Director Kim Jong Hok, this is the perspective from a ‘hopeless romantic’ fan :
handsome boy spots pretty girl in a sea of crowd ~@@~
boy gives girl a jewel the size of a ping-pong ball, girl is wondering its appraisal value ??
boy shows off his magic tricks, girl is 100% impressed (*()*)
boy makes his first move, hoping she won't slap him in the face!
boy seals it with a kiss, girl has totally fallen for handsome boy ~@@~
girl has boy’s baby (wait a minute, I thought our Yong Joon is an old-fashioned kind of guy?)
Meanwhile ......
girl’s dad roaring, girl’s mom squealing <*0*>
girl’s admirers howling <@o@>
and boy’s fans sobbing! <^_^>

While I enjoy historicals, it's hard to follow without English subs or some kind of summary since I have no clue what is being said.
There's always the past - sometimes the drama will start out as such or in this case, being told in a story or "legend"...then we are up to the present. Somewhere in the drama, there will be more flashbacks to help us "fill in the blanks" with the story.
As the drama progresses, I'm sure we'll be able to make "heads or tails" out of what is going on.

Watching Yong Joon doing what he does best is a turn-on!!
As with Jumong (Song Il Guk) and Dae Jo Young (Choi Soo Jong), both actors portrayed their characters as young teens and then adults. How they managed to look so young is wonderful. And the same goes for our Yong Joon. He looks great!!

and ahhh, im not one hunded% sure about this but i think the boy who was stabbed is not the young damdeok... that boy was the reincarnation of the blue dragon and when he grows up he is the man who is always wearing a mask bec his whole body (and face) have scars.
and damdeoks mother run/escaped(?) bec he was sure someone will is trying to kill her baby bec he was born under the star(?)....

I read the explaination and the pics were really good!i think the pregnant woman is damedok's mom and she ran into a deserted hut near the mountains to avoid the bad guys from killing the baby that was born under the joo shin star, destinied to be the joo shin king.the twirling column of white light is the awakening of one of the 4 totems. i think its the white tiger.damedok was raised in a village until he was about 11yrs old when his uncle on the throne died and appointed his father to be king of kyogro thats when he moved into the palace.
