Ahhhhh.... love a man in an expensive crisp white pin-tuck shirt. And then the combo of the shirt, jeans, leather jacket and boots have made my day.

So can someone please tell me the significance of 500 in Korea this year?? Thanks.

hi hi byjforever,

jeans and leather jacket always look so cool eh? especially on HRH!

500 in Korea? what is it?

Hi Jaime,
Sorry I need to correct myself. On BOF someone had posted about JP's news and then someone else mentioned something about this year being the luckiest for Koreans in 500 years. That's why there were/are so many marriages happening this year. Was just curious if anyone knew any details?

hi jaime!
JP does sound soooo gushy but soooo cute when talking about his girlfriend, huh? Wishing the happy couple (soon-to-be) all the best!

Pardon me ... in response to byjforever's comment, I usually don't know much on what's going on in Korea, but just yesterday I came across an article that said that Korean were getting married in huge numbers in 2006 because of the unusual but lucky occurences of "2 springs" for that year. Copy an paste this for reference: http://www.theage.com.au/news/World/South-Koreans-rush-to-say-I-do/2006/06/22/1150845291567.html. So, that still leaves 2007 unexplained......just meant to be, perhaps?

if any cares, the link got cut off due to being too long.
If it is worth the effort - you have to join the 2 lines together on your address bar:

(sorry jaime for the fuss and distraction)

Thanks mishio and byjforever for this piece of news, this reminds me of those 06/06/2006 and 07/07/2007 dates when every other person you know has a wedding to go to (except me of course, but that's another story). I heard 08/08/2008 will be even busier because Asians love '8'!

haha, talking about 8s... seems like the chinese really really really like 8.... even the beijing olympics are gonna kick off at 8pm, on the 8th of august 2008 :p

and... actually i think mishio's right... 2006 was THE year to get married, and in fact, the fortune-tellers are saying the 2007-8 lunar year is the year of the widow, not quite a good year for weddings, that's why there was a frenzy for weddings last year... :p

but i guess when you meet the right person, and you feel that the timing is right, you just do it.. whatever year it is :p

oh really bb, 2008/08/08 @ 8pm?! Sounds like a good choice.

hehe, you're right. If HRH pops the question, be it on Halloween or Friday the 13th, that's THE lucky day! :)

Mishio - thanks for the link to that interesting article. You're right that it says 2006 was the year.

Oh gee, you mean to say YJ gets to look forward to; according to the article; a typical wedding that has "sparklers and sappy songs".
