World Peace before Tae Wang
God said to me, “Jaime, since you’ve been a good girl, I’ll grant you one wish.”
Since I am a good girl, so I handed God a world globe and said, “I wish to have world peace.”
God frowned and replied, “Hmmmm, this one takes more than a miracle. Why don’t you make another wish?”
So I think a bit more selfish and said, “I wish to see Bae Yong Joon in person!”
God pondered for a few seconds, extended his hands to me with an apologetic look and said, “Let me have another shot with the globe.”
Well, I guess we all know by now that there will be NO airing of TWSSG this week. Episode 8/9 will be aired next Wednesday Oct 10/11. Apparently there is a crucial political meeting of the North and South, 2nd one after WWII. No question about it, world peace before entertainment. Let's catch up on the reruns, dear sisters :)
Btw, I read that the President of South Korea gave 2 dramas - 'Winter Sonata' and 'Jewel in the Palace' as gift in the North-South Korea summit. I am so proud of Yong Joon that he is recognized as the treasure of South Korea.

I was watching the news from Korea this afternoon and was in awe. If only World Peace can be achieved by meeting like this...now that would be something.
hehe vegas, I'll settle for meeting Yonsama in flesh and blood :)

Also, on the plus side for Tae Wang, is an extra week for wrapping up the production, if that becomes necessary.
I think it's a good idea to view the earlier episodes again in the meantime since, as we can all guess, the heart-wrenching parts are lurking just around the corner. Let's enjoy our playful DD for a while longer!
I hope the current summit meeting really does accomplish something tangible between North and South Korea, but I also know that these summits don't accomplish miracles overnight.
So the President of South Korea give him Winter sonata?
He knows the woman in the North Korean president will go insane and gaga over him.
If they are not yet.
He knows they will beg and cry to meet YJ.
He knows the reaction and love that surges to South Korea from that drama.
He knows because he might have live it in his family *most likely*
So in short he will help bring peace.
Joking aside this is how the world whent crazy for South Korea, and for this amazing man.
We can hope the talks go well and they become one again.
They are such a strong nation even divided, imagine what they can do togheter.
Moontime
Hi Chinggu!
Wowowowow! WLS & Jewel in the Palace as gifts! Good strategy I say! Imagine achieving peace through watching the aesthetically delightful HRH & gastronomically fulfilling foods of Jewel. Golly! that is really something.
I agree with Moontime. I can imagine how N. Korean women will start lining in the border just to get into Seoul & see our KING. One can only wish that if all warring nations can be resolved just by these two gigantic dramas then HRH can truly be given the honorable title of the best Ambassador of Goodwill ever to walk on earth.
Hope that the 2 Koreas will be one again SOON!
Love, Judy
hi gosijo,
U know, I really don't like the news here, CNN and N.America in general, which focus so much on Al Qaeda and the US elections. There are major news or natural disasters happening in Asia and all they mention is a few sentences. The news reported that the talk stumbles as S Korean president does not want to extend the meeting 1 more day because the N Korean leader KJI didn't attend the evening events w/ him? Sounds more like tabloid than political news! Wonder how they got through journalism school?? sigh!
hi hi moontime,
You know the news actually showed the display of gifts that S. Korea brought to the North. Too bad, it was just a .5 second flash, and I can't even catch where the Winter Sonata DVD is? I wish some Korean reporters had taken a picture of those gifts so the whole world can see our prince's beautiful face!
love ..... jaime
hehe chinggu,
I think a lot of N Korean women are already drooling over our prince. I do hope there will be more pop-cultural exchange between the 2 countries. Hehe, at least we know the president regards Bae Yong Joon as the top actor in his country and bringing this message into the North.

Hi Jaime,
I agree about the bias in the news we get here. And when it comes to entertainment, it's appaling! I read the short Associated Press account of the two Korean leaders' meeting yesterday and it refered to Lee Young Nae as a "starlet"! I ask you!
A while back, Infernal Affairs was called "a Hong-Kong movie", not "the highly sucessful Hong-Kong movie" by a local newspaper's movie reviewer. Living is this multi-cultural city, he ought to have known that a fair proportion of his readers would be aware of the impact of that movie.
And we all know what happened at the Academy Awards when The Departed was characterized as based on a Japanese movie by the off-screen announcer.
Your comment section is the first place where I'm reading which k-dramas, exactly, President Roh gave to his North Korean host. Great choices!
