When he closes his eyes .....

Chinese Baidu BYJ thread is a forum which I visit quite often because just one simple, fast link and I can see news, pictures, videos and articles. There is no classification of materials, just a list of topics sort by the latest update. One of my favourite source of pictures comes from a sister wlbyj, who seems to have a bottomless library of the rarest, most gorgeous, clearest pictures of HRH. Trust me, from the responses of those Baidu sisters, a good many of them have suffered from dehydration, irregular heart beat and sleeplessness as a result of of her postings :)

Hehe, don't be shy. You are free to do anything you want this time since he's not staring back at you!

Jaime, Jaime, Jaime! I see you want to be the undoing of even the most cool, calm and collected women out there! Okay, Okay, I know, it's all His fault! He's got broad shoulders (and let's NOT go THERE). He can bear all the blame!

Ah, the wine tasting scene in episode 12, your 3rd pic, he's such a tease, such a flirt! And the one with Sujini, your 5th, such an angel! Remember how she just had to touch The Royal Locks in that scene? Lucky gal!

Dear Jaime,

There's one thing I'm curious to know about the Chinese sisters, I mean in Mainland China. As I think Baidu is a Mainland Chinese site, I would like you to tell me what they are thinking.

I witnessed that HRH has a large number of fans there and as for the TWSSG there are already DVDs with Chinese subtitles. But TWSSG and BYJ are on a so called 'black list' aren't they? The Chinese government has banned the TWSSG, but the DVDs with Chinese subs are
already out now. How come there's such a big gap between the government policy and the reality? Chinese sisters just don't care about what their government says, or are they protesting about the list?
IMHO TWSSG is just a fantasy drama
and different people have different
views on history, even so it's not something the government interferes. I would much appreciate if you could share some of the Chinese sisters' opinion.

Hi Jaime,
Thanks so much for posting stuff from other sites. Seems I have been unable to maneuver my way through to be able to join some of the other sites due to the language barrier. Always curious to know what is posted -- would be nice to even see just photos and videos even if I can't read what's being said. So thanks for showing us some of the stuff.

Hi HeippieH and Gosijo,
Eye beams - Yes Shoulders - Yes
And he can definitely grab my shirt and put his head on my shoulder and breathe on my neck if he ever has a nightmare again - be still my heart!! Lucky Sujini!

Hi cloud nine,
Thanks for asking what I have been wondering about to.

hihi gosijo,

I can imagine the effects of these shots on a dignified professional woman like yourself, hehe, especially in the office! miahnae! I should have put a warning sign at the beginning of the post : "No living breathing creatures (or mean boss and nosy colleagues) allowed within 10 m radius when subject opens this post".

My dear cloudnine,

You have raised such an important question. We can look at this issue from so many different angles : political, historical, legal, financial, cultural and emotional. I want to try to address it based on my very limited observation from the Chinese Baidu site. I am sure there are much more discussions in other sites like loveyongjoon.

Yes, TWSSG has been banned from broadcasting on Chinese networks, but it doesn't stop the drama from surfacing on the streets. As you know already, when something can be uploaded on the internet, it can be copied and duplicated everywhere in the world (I know copyright is strictly enforced in Japan). The Chinese and English subtitles (with great quality too) come out almost a few days after the live broadcast in Korea. Do you know if there is any Japanese subtitled TWSSG on the net? So the Chinese sisters have no problem in accessing this so called 'banned' drama by the government.

There really isn't a whole lot of discussions or resentment in the forum. From what I read, I can feel the Chinese sisters love their country and are very proud of their heritage and culture. Of course they disagree with the decision of banning the drama, not that much because they can't see it (because they can), but more because they want our dear Yong Joon's great work to be introduced and recognized to many more millions of people in China. When the drama is banned, there will be no publicity or official events in China to honour our prince.

To the Chinese sisters (and I think to the Japanese sisters and myself too), Yong Joon has already transcended beyond race and nationality. I really do not see him as a Korean man, but as a very gorgeous human. I remember when he first spoke Manadarin in the Beijing April Snow press conference, I was so ecstatic and for a few seconds, I really thought he was Chinese! Did you feel the same way when he spoke Japanese to all of you in Saitama Arena?

Maybe some sisters are more patriotic or political than others, but I feel that our prince has been closing that gap among nations at the PEOPLE's level. Our BYJ sisters display consideration, love and understanding towards each other, regardless of our background, race, colours and beliefs. The political leaders have a lot to learn from our King and the BYJ family :)

BTW my dear cloudnine, one thing I have to mention about the Chinese sisters is, whether they frequent baidu or loveyongjoon, these ladies are some of the funniest girls around. The wordings they used in their comments to Yong Joon and to each other are just hilarious! Too bad sometimes the humour is lost in the translation, maybe I should attempt to translate it sometimes. I am sure it is also the case in the Japanese forum too, right?

My dear cloudnine, I am sorry that I am not as insightful as it should be since my knowledge on the Chinese sites are very limited. Wonder if bb or h has anything to add?

hihi dear byjforever,

hehe, I kind of see it as a double-edge sword. It's great to be able to read chinese cause there are so many fantastic sites from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, but that means you will be soooooo busy surfing here and there and there and here! Sometimes I am so 'curious' that I read the same news or article in both English and Chinese! Boy, imagine if I know a third language?!

Dear Jaime,

Thank you for taking trouble to clarify the situation of Chinese sisters. Can I say that the banning of TWSSG is more like the Chinese government's political pose and people are actually more practical about what they want to do?

Chinese media are still under control of the government, I think, but in reality people have easy access to the news from the world if they want to.

It's only 10 some years since the Korean government gave permission to the Japanese movies and songs to
be introduced to Korea, but acutually a lot of people had enjoyed such Japanese culture before.
Sometimes the government is a little late to catch up with the reality of its people.

I understand the fun of talking about our prince with the fellows fans, the funny wordings and parodies (like someone in Totonto), which are appreciated by only Bae sisters. It is a border-less fun!

I hope in the near future the Chinese government will allow any foreign culture without censorship.
I still remember the screening of 'poor' Aprpil Snow in Beijin, whose love scenes were all cut out.

And I opened your blog just as my boss was strolled in! No, no, I'm just kidding!

Gotta say, though, the range HRH is displaying in TWSSG is phenomenal! As others have said before, both the light comedy and martial arts are new or brought to much higher levels than before. I can't help coming back to that second wine tasting scene in #12. Can you imagine the precise timing this needed: drink, turn around, comment, show a suitable expression, drink some more... You get the picture.

Did I mention I love, love, love (hi bb) that scene? But, more than that, I love, love, love the whole drama!

I too enjoyed the discussion about what goes on in sites some of us can't visit because of language and the exchange with cloud nine about the situation in China.

I can only imagine how frustrating it was to see AS without the love scenes but, also, how demands for "illegal" full versions must have been fueled by that!

Hi dear cloudnine and gosijo,

I totally agree w/ you. I can't imagine April Snow without the love scenes. The love between Insu and Seoyeong would not be so convincing and heart wrenching.
I wish there's more love story in TWSSG than now.

oh dear bb, I totally respect and understand there are many views on this China issue. As you are so close to the Chinese sisters in loveyongjoon, I am sure you have a deeper understanding of their sentiments towars the ban.

Yeah, we all love him so much, nothing is going stop us from supporting him :)
