Fruitful Boxing Day

Hi Hi sisters .... did you all have a wonderful Christmas? I bet you had been eating so much that you felt like you have gained at least 50 pounds. Now, if that's the case, are you a good girl today and do your body some justice? Noooooo ......I don't mean exercise, I meant Boxing Day Shopping, midear!

It must have been at least 10 years since I shop on Boxing Day. First and foremost, I can't stand crowds and the long line-up - for parking, for change room, for paying. Back then, upscale stores only slashed prices on Boxing Day and that created a frenzy of shoppers who waited all year long for bargains. Now sale starts way before Decemeber, so if you can take advantage of the earlier discount, you have a lot more choices of styles and sizes (and may I add, customer service too). Now having said all that, why am I still willing to risk my life and brave the cold and the crowd out there? Simple, I am badly in need of shoes!

Remember I blogged about how much walking I need to do in Tokyo? ladies, I had 'retired' 4 pairs of shoes during my last 2 trips, and my feet have covered mileage equivalent to adding up all my walking in the last 10 years. So this time I am prepared, I know how comfortable and LOW my shoes need to be IF I still want my feet to be attached to my legs a few years from now.

Hehe sisters, when I was proudly showing my mom my achievement of the day, I suddenly remember how bb always shares her shopping success with us. So, to follow her tradition, I quickly grabbed my camera to give my shoes their Kodak moments. So, do they look comfortable?

Anyway, enough about me. I read in both Quilt and Baidu that BOF has confirmed that there is a high possibility that Yong Joon will attend the MBC Award Cermeony. His cast was removed on Dec 22 and he is using crutches to move around. I hope that he will be well enough on Dec 30 to show us his beautiful self. We'll be cheering for you, our prince!

Miss you so much .......

Hi Jaime,

You 'retired' 4 pairs of shoes in Tokyo, really? Then you did a very wise shopping. Now you are ready to come to Tokyo.

Thank you for following bb's tradition and showing us what you bought, oh so elegant pairs of shoes! Especially I just love the first pair. Though I usually wear comfortable and worm short boots for winter, I alwasy love watching all those beautiful shoes.

Today I went to see the episode 4 of TWSSG to the movie theater in Shinjuku and the theater had a full house!! For the first week of the New Year there'll be a 'marathon screening of 4 episodes (from 1 to 4) in a row'.
Remember 'Barefooted Youth' starts from 11th, you'll have an enough walking!
Everyone is looking forward to seeing you in Tokyo.

Hi dear Jaime,

Wow, great choices of stylish shoes!

I read your "empty house" post with interest. Another reason to get out on dreaded Boxing Day, no?

Looking forward to tomorrow and our get-together. I'm sure you know I'm sad you'll be far away but I feel you're heading for a wonderful not-to-be-missed adventure and I know you'll share many of those moments with us so I'm happy too. It's like a piece of my heart is going with you. So, I'm looking forward to tomorrow for another one of those bae chats for which there's never enough time!

Hi Jaime,

Yes, New Year's celeberation is even bigger and busier than Christmas. This year we had 3-days holidays in a row from 22nd to 24th to have a Christmas gathering because Emperor's birthday of Dec. 23, which is a national holiday happened to be Sunday so next Monday became the holiday. Usually, except students, we don't have holidays during Christams time. Our New Year's holidays are usually from 29 or 30 of Dec. to 3 or 4 of Jan.
We sometimes go to the highland ski resort to Nagano, but this year our daughter wants just stay at home and relax so we'll be staying at our house, eating, watching TV and visiting relatives and making the first visit to a local shrine or temple. My daughter also looks forward to the
bargain sale starting from the 2nd and 4th is our first day to Kabuki. So after 5th our life will be back to normal.
I'm not planning to go to see the 'marathon screening' but TWSSG on a big screen is really something.

So you'll meet up with gosijo tomorrow, the last get together before you leave. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time.

hee... i love looking at shoes!! thanks for sharing these...

gosh, think i should stop sharing pics of my shoes... you gals seem to like the stylish/classic/elegant type of pumps... i just adore high-high heels. and coz i tend to dress in quite conservative colours (and hardly any prints), i tend to go abit wilder on my footwear, so... :p

omo, some of you must be thinking, "what was she thinking when she bought those shoes?!" when you saw my shoes :p

but no choice la... i'm so short i really really really need the extra height... and i adore those black boots! can't quite see what fabric though... suede? i love suede boots actually... but they're kindda hard to keep in my kind of weather :(

p.s. serious?!! you wore out four pairs of shoes?!!! actually i thought tokyo's not as bad as seoul... the walking, i mean. there's lots of walking in seoul too, and too many stairs and steps :p

oh princess, please don't stop posting your new shoes. I always admire them, so colourful and hip. You have to excuse this old lady who's not adventurous in trying out new styles like you. As you said, I am sure your high heels look very nice w/ your neutral clothes.

Really, Seoul has even more walking?! That's it, I will put wheels under my shoes and learn how to rollerskate, otherwise I will NOT set foot in Korea!

hehe actually, the boots are dark brown leather, really soft and comfy :) I love long suede boots too.

btw, I am a good girl today, I bought 2 pairs of flats, easy on the feet.

keke, you call yourself a good gal for buying more shoes?!! :p

me did boring stuff today... bought bathroom accessories, curtain rods and coffee table type of things today... funny how come spending money on these things doesn't quite bring the same high as shoes :p

jaime said...

Hahaha princess, not the same high? guess we can't wear the curtain rod to go out, that's why. Ah furniture and household goods shopping, I am going through that too. It takes a lot of visual imagination, right? Unlike clothes, that you can bring your dress around to find the right shoes and bag; we can't drag a sofa around the store to find a matching coffee table?? We have to visualize the finished room in our heads, in scale and right shades of colour and style too!

Knowing how good your taste is, I am sure your finished rooms are going to be very nice.

keke, i was standing in the middle of some staninless steel bathroom accessories in ikea yesterday afternoon... must have been half an hour at least... i couldn't even decide what towel rails to buy!

i looked at my girlfriend and said, "my god, i've always thought i was pretty decisive!"

in the end, i bought a few different types to try out :p
